Post study work permit and PR

Level of Program

  • A Foundation course is a one-year preparation course for international students who need additional English
    language and academic preparation for entry into the first year of a Bachelor’s degree at a UK university
  • A Foundation degree is a two-year combined academic and vocational qualification, equivalent to two years of
    Bachelor’s degree and is a stand-alone degree.
  • International Year 1 (IY1 Diploma): IY1 is a one-year program for students who are not eligible for direct entry to
    a Bachelor’s program and it leads to 2″d year of a Bachelor’s degree
  • HNC: An HNC (Higher National Certificate) is a one-year course, equivalent to the first year of a bachelor’s
    degree.
  • HND: An HND (Higher National Diploma) is a two-year course, equivalent to the first two years of a bachelor’s
    degree. This qualification can be used to gain entry into universities in the final year of a
    Bachelor’s degree.
  • A Pre-Masters program is for international students who need to improve and develop their academics, research and seminar skills ahead of a Master’s degree. This course vanies in length from ten weeks to twelve
    weeks. It offers a route to a postgraduate degree in several disciplines and is suitable for students who:
  • Do not meet the academic requirements for admission into a postgraduate course.
  • Want to change the discipline from undergraduate degree to postgraduate degree.

Entry Criteria for Pathway Courses

  • Minimum 40-50% in standard 12th.
  • Minimum 50-55% in standard 12th.
  • Minimum 50% required in Bachelor’s degree
  • Student needs to have a UKVI IELTS for all the above-mentioned courses
    (Except for Navitas & OIEG, which requires IELTS score of 5.5 with no band
    less than 5.5)

Extended Degree & Accelerated Degree

  •  Extended degree offer an alternative entry-route with lower
    entry requirements into higher education than traditional undergraduate programs.
    A degree with foundation year is known as Extended Degree and is usually of 4 years.
  • An Extended Masters provides a bridging route for students who don’t meet the initial entry requirements for a Master’s degree.
    Once completed, student will progress to a Masters which usually takes a full
    academic year to study.
  •  Accelerated degrees let student fast-track their study and graduate in just
    two years.
  • Accelerated degrees (also known as two-year degrees, or three-year degrees in Scotland) are full
    bachelor’s degrees (undergraduate courses) student can complete in a condensed time period.
  • They have the same amount of course content as traditional degrees, but student will have shorter
    and fewer holidays so they can complete the course quicker. Course structures will vary from
    university to university.

Masters of Business Administration

  • Fresher’s MBA
  • MBA for students having work experience
  • Mature Entry MBA
  • Recent graduates with no work experience can apply for an MBA for freshers.
  • Students with a Bachelor’s degree and work experience of 2 to 5 years can apply for these MBA courses.
  • Students who do not have a formal Bachelor’s degree qualification can still pursue an MBA in the UK
  • The entry requirement for such students is
    Pass in Standard 12
  • Students age should be minimum of 25 years
  • Work experience of at least 7+ years at managerial level.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

In general, the English Language requirement as per UKVI is CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) Level B2 which is equivalent to a minimum 5.5 overall with 5.5 in each section in IELTS.

IELTS waiver is available : in many of the universities if the student has secured more than 65%-70% marks in 12th Standard English.

Pre-Sessional English Language : program is also offered for students who do not meet the IELTS requirements of a particular course at a University.

  • Similarly, for other degrees minimum subject specific scores may be required in 12th Standard.
  • IELTS requirement ranges from 6.0 / 6.5 with no band less than 5.5 depending upon the course and the University.

UK STUDENT VISA PROCESS

Applications in 4 to 5 universities (Application fees waiver)

Conditional offer letter turnaround time: 3 to 4 weeks

  • Submission of any pending documents required by the university
  • Acceptance of the conditional offer letter
  • Deposit payment ranging from 2,000 GBP to 5,000 GBP (Depends on the university)
  • Skype interview from the university.

If interview is not cleared….

  • If interview is not cleared, some universities provide another chance to clear the interview
  • If 2nd chance is not provided, the process for refund of the deposit should be initiated

If interview is cleared from university, then

> Proceed further with the second payment
> Show 28 days old funds
> Submit the Medical Certificate
> If there is a change in name, then submit a Same Name Affidavit
> 10 to 15 days turn over time for CAS

VISA FILING AFTER RECEIVING CAS

  • Verify the details mentioned in the CAS letter.
  • In case of any mistake in the CAS letter, inform the university immediately after receiving the updated CAS, apply for Visa.
  • Fill out the Visa form online from https://www.gov.uk/student-visa.
  • Make the payment of the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) of INR 127000 approx (£1,035 per year) Per year, leading to the payment of the VFS visa embassy fee of INR 54,000 approx (£490 per year).
  • Payment mode for both categories of fees is through CREDIT CARD ONLY with international transactions enabled on the same (No debit cards, No Online Payment, No net banking).
  • Once the payments are done, book the date for submitting biometrics to the nearest VFS Centre.
  • Arrange and submit all the hard copies of documents when you visit for biometrics.
  • Pay charges for document scanning, passport courier charges and SMS services (INR 2000-2500).
  • All Original hard copies will be returned to the students and only the passport will be retained by the embassy.
If interview is cleared from university, then

AFTER RECEIVING THE VISA

  • The student will receive an email and a text message that the passport is being dispatched
  • In the passport, the stamping of the visa will be for 3 months + Biometric Residential Permit (BRP) letter with remaining visa and address of the post office for collecting the BRP card
  • Students need to travel before the start date of the course
  • Within 10 days upon reaching the UK, students are required to collect their BRP card from the address mentioned in the BRP letter
  • Visa will be issued for the whole program length + 4 months
