Pathway Colleges

  • The student progresses to a UG/PG program in an Aus University

  • Mainly focused on Foundation/Diploma/MQP programs

    ELICOS can also studied in a Pathway College

  • Programs are offered in almost all popular disciplines such as IT, Engineering, Health, Business, Hospitality, etc.

  • Example: Deakin College/Griffith College/Curtin College

What are Pathway Programs?

 Pathway programs are a good opportunity for
01. students who are unable to meet the direct entry requirements of Australian universities
02. Students who are not able to meet the direct entry requirements of Australian Universities can be offered ‘Pathway Programs’
03. These programs can be offered at the undergraduate level and postgraduate level
04. These are also called ‘Packaged Programs’
05. Pathway programs are of two types

        • Academic pathway
        • English language programs

Academic Pathway - UG

  • Students scoring 55% to 64% in HSC can be offered these programs
  • They are also called as Diploma leading to Degree programs. (D to D programs)
  • Students usually get admission in a college where they study a Diploma Program for one year. (e.g., Diploma of Business)
  • After successful completion of Diploma, they progress to the second year of Bachelor’s degree, eventually completing their graduation in 3/4 years.

English Language Pathway

  • English Language Pathways are also called as ELICOS, EAP, ELP, etc.
  • Offered to students falling short of the English language requirement
  • Students have to study English before’ commencing their main program
  • Duration of ELICOS is restricted to a minimum of 10 weeks
  • Tuition Fee of ELICOS: AUD 300 to AUD 400 per week

Work Rights for International Students

  • Students can work 48 hours/fortnight (part-time) when their course is in session
  • Students can work 48 hours/week (full time) during semester breaks and vacations
  • Students are usually paid approx AUD 24.10 per hour
  • Students can support their living expenses to a good extent by working part time in Australia
